Zoo Boo at Mill Mountain Zoo - No tricks, just treats!
What to do for Halloween in Roanoke? The Zoo Boo!

On a recent, beautiful, crisp fall Saturday, my colleague Pat Joiner and I boarded a bus in downtown Roanoke and rode up to Mill Mountain Zoo for their annual "Zoo Boo" Halloween celebration. We arrived to find children and adults donned in costumes enjoying their time with the animals while stopping at tables to get treats provided by different groups.
Since MKB, REALTORS is the sponsor of the Aviary bird sanctuary (or as it has been renamed, "The MKB Birdhouse!") we had a table set up right outside of the exhibit. Not only did we hand out treats to children and adults, but we also offered small sachets of birdseed for visitors to take home. Pat was glowing in her Snow White costume, while I was a mere blue crayon!
Our table was manned by agents all day and well received. At the end of the day, we had a good deal of candy left over and decided to donate it to a small school for their trunk or treat (which extended our outreach even more).
This event was a joyous occassion and I loved being involved! I love how being part of a locally owned and operated real estate firm like MKB connects me to events like this one. I look forward to more opportunities to be involved in supporting our community through MKB's sponsorships, volunteer efforts, donations, etc.
