For sushi lovers, Edo Grill and Sushi offers a great selection of sushi. They also keep tamari sauce on hand to make their hibachi dishes gluten free. You will usually find me there several times a month!

For an unforgettable dinner, head over to the Blackwater Cafe. John and his team excel in accommodating diners, and even remembering what you can and can't have each time you visit. The creme brûlée is a must have. The vanilla bean is my favorite by far, and I hear a banana option is coming soon as well!

• Corbin's Confections

Speaking of dessert, some times this lake girl does leave the lake and come to the city. If you're in Salem you have to stop in at Corbin's Confections. Corbin's is gluten free, peanut free and tree nut free bakery. The pastry options are way too many to list, from eclairs to pies to cupcakes to pretzels and bread. Plus breakfast on Saturdays!
